About Orthodontics

For those who are self conscious about their smile, orthodontic care is the answer they have been looking for. Orthodontic treatment can help correct any problems they have with their smile, and help them achieve the smile they have always dreamed of.

At Olsen Orthodontics, you will receive the highest quality of care in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Patients of all ages are welcomed to come see what orthodontic care can do for them. We offer different types of braces including Invisalign® and Damon braces. With Dr. Olsen, you will decided what type is the best for your individual situation.

How Long Will Your Treatment Last?

The duration of a patient's treatment varies from person to person. Generally treatment lasts between 2 or 3 years, depending on the age of the patient, what treatment option they have chosen and how severe their case is.

For a higher success rate with orthodontic care, a patient needs to be diligent when it comes to their treatment. Early treatment for younger patients can make for a faster treatment time.

Orthodontic Care for Children

It is recommended by the American Association of Orthodontics that a child see an orthodontist by 7-years-old. The doctor will determine whether your child is a candidate for orthodontic care. Early treatment usually starts when the patient is 8-years-old and is used to help correct the growth of the child's jaw and any bite problems. It also helps to make room for their permanent teeth to fill in correctly.

Signs Your Child May Need Early Orthodontic Care:

  • Teeth that don't come together normally
  • Speech impediments
  • Crossbites
  • Difficulty eating or biting
  • Crowded front teeth at 7 or 8-years-old
  • Mouth breathing

If your child is showing any of these problems, contact us today to schedule them an appointment.

Introducing the OrthoBus

In order to serve our patients better, we are setting up a satellite clinic at or near your school. Our mobile orthodontic clinic has four chairs, complete sterilization capacity, and the ability to accommodate almost all of the orthodontic appointments for our patients.

OrthoBus, the mobile orthodontic clinic, is an extra service we are offering for our patients at no additional charge. We will be visiting schools every six weeks to accommodate regular return appointments. Click Here to learn more.

Orthodontic Care for Adults

In recent years, the amount of adults receiving orthodontic care has steadily increased because they understand the importance of maintaining their oral health care, and enjoy the confidence that a perfect smile gives them.

Reasons an adult would consider getting orthodontic care:

  • Teeth have become crowded together, causing tooth decay other unhealthy oral problems
  • Pain caused by crooked teeth
  • A bad bite or misaligned teeth
  • The desire for a healthy and beautiful smile

Treatment Options for Adult Orthodontic Patients

When many adults hear anything about braces, the image of a mouth full of metal comes to mind. But through the years a variety of braces and appliances have been created that are not only comfortable, but also aesthetically pleasing to the eye. These type of treatments include:

  • Clear braces
  • Invisible braces
  • Traditional metal braces
  • Ceramic braces
  • Self-ligating braces
To discuss orthodontic treatments for adults, contact our office today. We will help determine what is best for your mouth, as well as your budget.

Damon System

Damon System

The Damon System combines the use of high-tech low-force wires with brackets that have a sliding door to engage the wire. This system enables us to move teeth with lower forces than traditional orthodontics. Light forces are more biologically compatible allowing quicker, healthier tooth movement. The benefits are amazing!

Invisalign® is a new system of straightening teeth without the use of conventional braces. A series of clear plastic aligners are utilized to create tooth movement. Moving teeth with removable aligners is not new. However, the computer program, which can generate a series of aligners with small changes is the new part. Invisalign® is recommended for orthodontic situations with mild to moderate spacing or crowding. They are virtually undetectable, easy to use and comfortable to wear.
